Ranging from wood, linen, bronze, and more, these materials are gotten mostly through missions although these can be targeted by selecting the one that has the desired materials. The Seals, tomes, and scrolls are gotten the same as heroes but the materials are the difference here. They require Seals of Valor, unit XP tomes, ability scrolls, and various materials to upgrade. Secondary characters are a different beast where upgrading them is done at the Barracks. If it doesn't, then the items, such as tactics cards or XP tomes, can be gotten by either going into the various shops or story missions to acquire.

To upgrade heroes, they need to be upgraded at the Hearth which is in the same building as the Codex and the Hero Arena at the Night's Watch main area.

Upgrading characters are done in a few ways but we'll talk about hero type characters first and secondary ones after as they have a few differences between them. A handy little feature the game provides in an option called Danger Zone on the bottom right of the combat screen. These have cooldowns so use them when necessary. Tap the character when they're on that new blue square to accept the move or hit the 'X' at the bottom of the screen to cancel. While in actual combat, to move a character, tap on them once and tap a blue square to move them to that square. Once the team is assembled, hit the Start Battle button and combat will begin. To know how many units can be deployed for battle, the number is on the right side of the screen above where it says Start Battle in red. If a mistake was made in selecting a teammate tap and hold the character to switch at the bottom of the screen and drag them over the character to replace. Afterward, select the teammates to join the hero which can be done in the same fashion. To switch heroes, tap on the hero portrait on the bottom left and select the hero desired. On the combat screen, the hero is on the bottom left corner and the secondary characters next to them on the left. There is always a hero selected and up to three secondary characters to form the team.

Combat in Game Of Thrones Beyond the WallД¬ombat is set in a 6x8 grid with the option of havingВ a team of four characters acting as the player's combatants. There are some fine-tuning points though that don't get explained as much and we have a few tips that will get any player through their first steps. Beginning players might feel a bit overwhelmed with all the game modes and it can take a bit to get used to but luckily there are a few minor tutorials to help along the way. Game of Thrones Beyond the Wall puts a tactics/strategy style of battle on the game reminiscent of other mobile games such as War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave ExviusВ and Hoplite.
